• Social Impact Intern

    Wanted for Spring 2019

    Position Description


    YI Advisors, the social-impact consulting arm of the non-profit Young Invincibles, is seeking a part-time intern to start mid January (10-20 hrs/week) for their Washington, DC office. The candidate must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast collaborative environment and has an entrepreneurial attitude. The intern must commit to 3-4 months and the internship pays $15/hour. Current college students or recent college graduates are welcome to apply.


    At YI Advisors, our interns are an integral part of the account teams and they often support the client directly to deliver high-quality project management and research to support technological solutions. While the role may involve some administrative duties, interns who show a high level of competence and initiative can and will become a key player in coordinating and executing client projects. There is potential for extension through the Summer or for promotion to a full-time position.


    The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, is able to communicate effectively and professionally, both with team members as well as with outside partners in-person and via phone and email. Technical skills are not a prerequisite for the position, but through the internship, the individual selected may learn to administer a portfolio of in-demand technology tools.

    Principal Responsibilities


    • Responsible for assisting with implementing and monitoring various tasks within a specific set of accounts, while working closely with the account team
    • Conduct and compile research around a variety of topics related to Education, Workforce Development, Civic Engagement and Healthcare

    • Review and suggest edits to technology tools including apps and websites

    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to support mobile and web technology tools

    • Gain a basic understanding of client’s policy goals, industry issues, key stakeholders and target audiences to provide them with better service


    • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others or individually

    • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

    • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced work environment and a start-up atmosphere

    • An interest in and aptitude for working with new technologies

    • A passion for the YI Advisors social impact mission

    • Experience in student organizing or client facing work is a plus

    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
